Condolences
And after I sent my note, I realised that I was two years late (not one) !! I am so sorry.
I wish I had known sooner.
To all the Cairns
It was quite by accident that I found your dad’s obituary today. Over a year late. I only get the paper on Saturdays so must has missed it. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom and dad beginning fifty years ago. What a lovely obituary! Bruce leaves you with a great legacy.
My dear Marjorie, my sincere condolences on your loss of a wonderful man. I worked at Calgary Family Service Bureau at the same time as Bruce did. I then met up with Bruce again thru the Globetrotters at Kerby Centre when I was a staff person there and remember him well as a valued board member during my Presidency. Our paths have crossed quite a few times over the years and I will always remember Bruce as a quiet, intelligent and thoughtful person.
My condolences are also extended to all of the children and grandchildren
Marjorie, David, Carmen and the rest of Cairns clan,
Our hearts go out to all of you during these difficult days. Bruce was a very special person to me and to the community of Rosemont. His unbridled enthusiasm for community involvement and activities was an inspiration to us all. I loved the way he would write down the issues he wanted to discuss at each meeting, making sure that we addressed everything he wanted to talk about and that he didn’t miss anything. He was always up beat and positive and we will miss him very much. Rosemont has been left a better place because of Bruce’s contribution. May the warm memories of your times with Bruce help to comfort you in the days and weeks ahead. Our prayers are with you all.
Marjorie and Family,
It was such a pleasure for me to get to know you and Bruce while you both volunteered at The Salvation Army Agape Hospice when I was the Chaplain . . . I will always remember the many times that you were there playing the piano and Bruce was there so proudly supporting you helping at the monthly memorial services and Bruce getting himself involved in the gardens and other tasks . . . always willing to help out where needed.
May you find comfort in all of your wonderful memories and from the love and support that surrounds you by your family and friends.
With My Deepest Sympathy,
Jacqueline Hoare
Marjorie: I was sorry to hear of the passing of your husband, Bruce. I remember him coming to a lot of our choir performances and being an active participant in helping out. I’m glad you two had a chance for some wonderful travel and good times together. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Deanna
