Obituary of Daniel William CLARKE
November 17, 1948 – Grande Prairie,
June 5, 2015 – Edmonton, Alberta
Daniel (Dan) William Clarke passed away on Friday, June 5th, 2015 at the age of 66 years. Dan will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all of those around him.
Dan was born on November 17, 1948 in Grande Prairie, AB to Bob and Muriel Clarke. Dan joined the Calgary Police Service in 1969 where he had an illustrious twenty-six year career. Upon retirement from the Police Department, Dan worked as a fraud investigator with Workers Compensation Board in Calgary for eleven years. In addition to being an accomplished and decorated law enforcement officer, Dan was an avid outdoorsman spending his time fishing, camping, horseback riding, hiking and biking. His love for the mountains drew him to snowshoeing and skiing as well.
Dan is survived by his son Bryce Clarke; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Loni Edey; two grandchildren, Kashdon and Reese Edey; four sisters, Donna Phillips, Marjory Foley, Verna Peace and Shirley Hay; his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Carol Clarke and several nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his parents Bob and Muriel Clarke.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
