Obituary of Wayne Garfield CARTER

August 21, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
Wayne Carter of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 79.
Wayne, a landman, was active in the Calgary business community and a long-time contributor to all aspects of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen and the University of Calgary’s Petroleum Land Management Program. He was proud to be the first Chair of the Existing Land Leases Access Panel and member of the Metis Settlements Appeal Tribunal. Wayne was involved with many charitable organizations, most notably Rotary International and the Calgary Distress Centre.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his children, Nadine (Michael) Hoffman of Calgary and Jennifer Carter Laforet of Victoria along with their mother Jeanne Carter; his grandchildren, Kalub Laforet, Lavender Laforet, and Olivia Hoffman; brother, Jim (Debbie) Carter and sister-in-law Margaret (Jim) Van; as well as his nieces, other relatives, and friends in Calgary and elsewhere across the country.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Isobel Carter of Innisfail.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
