Condolences
I miss my Mom! As I sit here trying to figure out what to write, thousands upon thousands of memories swirl around in my head and I’m having trouble picking just one to talk about! So I guess I have to go back to the beginning. For the first 26 years of my life, my Mom and I butted heads big time! It was a love hate relationship for the both of us. But, Oh there were so many great times also! Like our yearly camping trips! Loved them! I never realized how lucky we kids were doing that as much as we did until I grew up! Thanks Mom and Dad!
No one could cook like my Mom. Even her everyday dinners were better than any five star restaurant! As For Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter you felt as if you had died and went to heaven with the feast she prepared! And her baking! Well that’s legendary!! We all should of weighed 300 lbs each but Mom had a cure for that! Work! Lots of Work! Something she was always doing from housework, sewing, needle point to canning. And, Boy Howdie could my Mom can! I can still taste her pickles and fruit! As a child, life with my Mom was busy to say the least. The strange thing is that all things she tried teaching me when I was young I surprisingly remembered and tried to follow when I became a wife and mother. Who’d of thought that!
When I was 26 something wonderful happened! I’m not sure if it was because we had four grandchildren for her to love and spoil or the fact Mike and I were happily married AND living on a farm! Well, truth be told a hobby farm! A hobby that quickly became more like a full time job! Boy, was my Mom happy being with farm animals once again. She said it brought back memories of when she was little! Anyway that’s when Mom and I buried the hatchet and became not just Mother and Daughter but Friends! Really good friends! Mom I miss talking to you on the phone! I miss the wonderful sweet, happy, and kind old lady you turned into. I miss your laughter, your teasing of me but most of all I MISS YOU JUST BEING THERE! Love you Mom To infinity and beyond! <3 Cathy
I’m so grateful grandma had the time to be surrounded by her family’s love and hugs so shortly before her passing! It’s obvious from the pictures how fulfilled she was by that presence and love. I am saddened by her passing but am consoled by how blessed she was to live such a long full life. She always made me feel so cherished during her visits when I was a child. She’s also the one who introduced me to the wonders of Value Village! ;-) I pretty much do all my clothes shopping at second hand stores nowadays.
The following is quote from a friend, it has brought me great comfort whenever someone I love passes on….
“May the sorrow you feel, remind you of the love that you shared”
Much love and hugs,
Toby
I would like to send my love and prayers to everyone in the family.
I have always had fond memories of Aunty Mary that I will cherish and continue to carry with me.
Extending my deepest sympathy to all you and may the love of family, friends and beautiful memories console you during this time of loss.
Just know that there’s a party of reunion going on in heaven right now.
