Obituary of Trung Kim VU

December 27, 1965 – Quang Ngai, Vietnam January 28, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta Dr. Trung Kim Vu, beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle passed away peacefully on January 28, 2015, surrounded by his family. Remembered as a kind and gentle man with a big heart and a gregarious laugh, he devoted his life to his family especially his children, Tarek and Tessa. He was also a dedicated family physician who touched the lives of many patients in Regina, Lake Laronge, High Prairie, and Calgary where he practiced. He was predeceased by his father, Oanh Vu. He is survived by his wife, Tram, his son Tarek, and his daughter Tessa; mother Thin Do; uncle Thuyet Vu; sisters and brothers Nga (Ngoc), Mimi (Quang), Khanh, Thu (Hung) and Quoc (Anh-Thu); nephews and nieces Rev. John, Elizabeth, Jason, Justin, Anna, Tammy, Phil, Jane, Ian, Luke, Sarah, Megan, Hannah, Tristyn, Kaedyn. He also is survived by his mother in law, Loc Ngo; sisters and brothers in law Loan (Tuan), Tri (Xuan), Anh (Thanh), and Tu; and many extended family members and friends. We wish to express our gratitude to the medical staff at the Foothills Hospital ICU Pod A Unit for providing care, comfort and support to our family during Dr. Vu’s final days. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Dr. Vu at McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary AB) on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. In addition there will be a prayer service on Sunday February 1, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 45 St SE, Calgary AB) on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM. The burial service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1515 100 St SE, Calgary AB). In memory of Dr. Vu, donations may be made to Renfrew Educational Services 2050 21 Street NE Calgary AB [Charity Registration No. 107886129RR0001] in support of the education of children with special needs, in lieu of flowers.
