Obituary of Kathleen Winnifred TEAHAN

TEAHAN, Kathleen Winnifred (Kathy) November 1, 1928 – January 2, 2015 Kathy passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015. Kathy was born in Lohar, Ireland. As an adventurous young woman, Kathy left Ireland for England and then came to Canada, eventually settling in Calgary, Alberta. Upon arriving in Canada she worked as a nanny and then as a sales clerk for the Hudson’s Bay Company in Winnipeg and Calgary, where she retired after 39 and a half years. Kathy loved to travel and made life long friends everywhere she went. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (O’Donohoue) and Dennis Teahan; her sisters Maureen Teahan, Mairead Teahan and Abbey Sullivan; an infant brother; and her very special friend Jeannie Shearer. Kathy is survived by her son William (Roy) Teahan (Debbie), grandsons Ryan (Jill), Sean (Joni), and Cory (Jessica) and great-grandchildren Oliver, Logan, Keinan, Isabella and Jaicey; her sisters Brid Conlon and brother James Teahan in Ireland, sister Noreen King in Florida; several nieces and nephews and her special friends Anna Kappelhoffmann, Carole Miller, Mary Reid, Nicky Rogers, Cynthia Lange, Kay and many others. Special thanks to her wonderful friends who visited her regularly, Anna, Carole and Mary. Thank you also, to the wonderful staff at Southwood Care Centre for your kind and compassionate care of Kathy. May God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again dear Kathy, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through .
