Obituary of Isabella (Isabelle) Gertrude NEIL (nee Horrigan)

November 25, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Isabella (Isabelle) Gertrude Neil passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 83 years.

Isabelle was born and raised in Olds, AB, where she graduated from high school and then later moved to Calgary.  It was in Banff where she met the love of her life, Jim, who she married in 1959 and they started a family together in Calgary. Isabelle’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the centre of her life where she provided a loving home. Isabelle was known for her generous giving of time, support and unconditional love to her family and friends. Her infectious smile could be seen from a distance and will always be ingrained in the memories of everyone she knew. She enjoyed travel with Jim, had a passion for word puzzles, cards, politics, current events, attending mass at St. Peter’s and weekend dinners with her family. 

Isabelle is survived by her son Rob (Janee), daughter Cathy (John), eight grandchildren, David, Jacob (Chantelle), Travis, Parker, Spencer, Jonathan, Abby, Meg; and two great-grandchildren, Lillian, and Noah; as well as extended family members from the Horrigan, Higgins, Yucytus, Kelsch, Schafer, Hagy, and Coe families. Isabelle was predeceased by her loving husband Jim, precious daughter Tracy, parents Pearl and Michael, sisters Bernice, Leona, Peggy; and brothers, Ray, Michael (Denny).

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
