Condolences
I met Kevin shortly after joining the Calgary Highlanders in 1986, and eventually had the pleasure of getting to know him better during the time we served together. Even after all these years, I still remember him as a solid, stand-up guy with a great sense of humour and warm, genuine disposition (even though he always looked quite serious/stern at first glance). I also recall that Kevin was often employed as a driver/crewman for the Grizzly armoured vehicles the Unit had back in the day, and many of us couldn’t help but feel a little envious of him during exercises, given that he was smart enough to have found a job that didn’t require him to walk around as much as the rest of us, or be stuck out in the elements whenever the weather turned nasty….
Unfortunately, Kevin and I fell out of contact when we each left the Highlanders to pursue other things, however I still have very fond memories of the time spent in his company. Consequently, it was with great and sincere sadness that I recently learned of his passing, and that he had left this world at such a young age. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends on this sad occasion, and may Kevin rest in peace—he will certainly be missed by those of us who knew him.
I was very sorry to hear the news of Kevin's sudden passing and at such a very young age.
We served together, and in many ways grew up together, in the Calgary Highlanders (Army Reserves).
Kevin was always a dedicated soldier who had a smile on his face all the time.
My condolences go out to his two sons and extended family.
