Condolences
Dear Ella and Family. We were sorry to hear about Milton passing. Our sincere condolences to all of you, such a sad time.
Sincerely, Vicky and Burt and Family
I (Phyllis) recall fond memories of growing up and going to school with Ivan in the village of Abernethy.
His "SMARTS" were apparent at that time.
To Ella and Family may the pleasant memories of your life together be a source of comfort and peace.
Phyllis and John Peters
Sorry to hear of your loss Ella. I heard the news with great sadness from Brian shortly after he returned from his last trip away. Talked with him again today earlier. I'll remember him most for his big smile and belly laugh - and for all the many excellent presentations he put on at Veteran Resources. We got to share quite a bit of the load looking at a vast number of likely looking O&G disposition packages and I still remember the one we had spent a few weeks on and when it was time to get together I presented my opinions from a geological perspective on potential remaining reserves - and he said: "Wow! That's the same numbers I get when I look at all the production declines." Rare praise for the Veteran "Tea Boy." Glad to hear he passed in his sleep and did not suffer. He was a good man and always had my respect and thanks. Take care and I send all our best. Tough times for me trying to adapt to not being able to visit Anne in long term care. But we are a resilient bunch. Justin and Anne.
Ellen We are so sad to hear of Ivan passing. He was a great guy and friend. Our memories of our days at HBOG days and reunions are top of mind. Our thoughts and best wishes.
Hi Ella,
So sorry to read of Ivan's passing! I lost Carol last October so I can feel some of your pain and recollections of happier times.
Ivan and I were not close friends but we were good friends and that mutual respect is important. Ivan was a great engineer! I especially remember our time together in Fox Creek with HBOG.
I can't recall if both your boys were with you in Fox Creek but they might appreciate an old 8mm home movie I took there in 1974 and combined with a cassette voice recording and background music from The Entertainer and later recorded everything with a video camera.and then recently posted it on You-tube. Ivan was in charge of the wells and pipelines getting sour gas to the Kaybob Plant and I looked after the processing of the gas and by-products.
Have them go on to You-tube and search for "A Day at Kaybob".
All the best, Al Kiernan
My condolences to the family.
I was a co-worker of Ivan at HBOG, however my first memory of him was when he was my physics lab instructor at the University of Saskatchewan. Insights and advice, delivered in that smooth, clear voice, provided me great support in getting through a 1st year engineering physics class.
He will be missed by many. Cyril Ayers
