Obituary of Helen Jennie CRAIGAN

Our beloved Helen Craigan passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Helen is now reunited with the love of her life, Stanley Craigan whom she married on November 5, 1957. 
 
Helen was born in Calgary, AB, Canada on August 4, 1934.

Helen will be lovingly remembered as a devoted and beloved mom, grandma, mother-in-law, and friend. Helen’s family were the pride and joy of her life. 

Though she struggled for many years with pain, Helen was continually a courageous, positive, and selfless individual. She was an inspiration to all those who knew her. Her beautiful smile would light up the room. Her ability to listen, her kindness, compassion, humour, and thoughtfulness touched the lives of all who met her. She will be greatly missed. 

Helen was a skilled switch board operator, receptionist and administrative assistant. She retired from the Continuing Education Department at Mount Royal University. Helen prided herself on hard work and dedication to her job. She was honored to receive a Distinguished Staff Award from Mount Royal University. 

Helen was passionate about reading biographies. Her knowledge of politicians and royalty was unparalleled. She adored riding her bicycle and some of her favourite memories were the countless cycling adventures in Fish Creek Park and Great Falls, Montana, accompanied by Stan. Helen was also an incredible cook and baker. She was often requested to bake her famous delicious pies. 

Helen is survived by her only child and daughter Carolyn Ingham, son-in-law, Stace, granddaughter Hannah and grandson Quinn of Chilliwack, B.C. She is also survived by her sister, Olga Dippel, her brother-in-law, George Craigan, both of Calgary, AB; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was predeceased by her husband Stanley.
