Obituary of Timothy (Tim) Craig PETROS

September 12, 1961 – Calgary, Alberta
March 30, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Tim Petros of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 58.

Tim Petros had a profound effect on every being he encountered. His passion for life, and love for others was infectious. To know him was to love him.

“There is nothing I have to have, there is nothing I have to do, there is nothing I have to be. Except what I am right now.” - Tim Petros

Born in Calgary, AB, on September 12, 1961. Tim Petros graduated from the University of Calgary in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a National Championship title: in this year, he won the 1983 Vanier Cup, where Tim gathered MVP honours for his performance that totalled 260 yards rushing, and over 400 yards total offense. Both records stand to this day. His success on the football field continued in the professional ranks as a staple member of the Calgary Stampeders from 1983-1990. Tim played in exactly 100 career games for the hometown Red & White. After retiring from his first passion, football, Tim joined the successful family business at Nick's Steakhouse where he would meet the love of his life, his soulmate Laura, in 1991. Together Tim and Laura shared twenty-eight wonderful years together creating a beautiful life for themselves and their children, which included their own local business: Tim’s Gourmet Pizza.  After nearly twenty years of selling the delectable artisan pies through Calgary, the company's success accumulated in the opening of his own restaurant, Tim’s Gourmet Pizzeria in Cochrane, AB. Tim’s greatest achievement, however, was raising the two most loving and beautiful children. He loved his children fiercely, and was beyond proud of who they are. He truly was the best dad in the entire world.

“Tim the Great” manifested a life worth celebrating. His word was impeccable, he led by example through the power of his passions, and reminded us every day to move through life with “Love in your Heart”

Tim was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife Laura, children Nikolas and Jordan, and the entire Petros family.
