Obituary of Betty Jean McDONALD

October 16, 1935 – Lethbridge, Alberta
April 11, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

With great sadness we announce the passing of Betty Jean McDonald (nee Todd) on Saturday April 11, 2020 at the age of 84 years.  

Betty was born in Lethbridge, AB on October 16, 1935.  She grew up in Nobleford, AB and graduated from Nobleford Central High School. 

Betty and Kemp were married in November of 1955 (65 years) and moved to Calgary in 1956 where they remain to this day. Betty worked in the home and raised her five children.  When they were older she worked for Fuller Brush, in the office, which she really enjoyed. 

Betty loved family gatherings.  She had her camera at all the family events and started to scrapbook.  She has many books that tell the stories of the years events.  She also had a passion for baking. 

Besides her loving husband of sixty-five years, Betty is survived by her three daughters, Karen Congdon (nee McDonald) of Calgary, AB, Sandy McDonald of Calgary, AB and Brenda Stone (nee McDonald) of Calgary.  She is also survived by her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kim and Michelle (Missy) McDonald of Okotoks, AB and Tod McDonald of Calgary, AB.  Betty had eight grandchildren, Cindy Peterdy(nee Congdon) Kory Peterdy, Cody Bleile, Chad Congdon, Ashley(nee Congdon), Jon Peebles,  Sarah (nee McDonald), Adam Douglass ,  Jennifer (nee Stone), Braden Bond, Geoffrey Stone and Nicole McDonald. Betty had five great-grandchildren, Madison Peterdy, Brayden and Taylor Congdon, Hudson Stone and Calvin Peebles. Betty is also survived by her brother Edwin Todd and his wife Joan of Monarch, AB. She was predeceased by her parents Sadie and James Todd, brother Melvin Todd and her son-in-law Robert Stone.
