Obituary of Patricia Ann STAUFFER (nee Benwood)

March 15, 1960 – April 11, 2020

We are sad to announce that Patricia Stauffer of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

Patricia was born on March 15, 1960, in Calgary, AB, where she lived most of her life. Patricia graduated from Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics, and was a dedicated hairdresser. Of Patricia’s accomplishments, she was especially proud of becoming a mother, and sharing her love with friends and family. Although Patricia struggled with mental illness for much of her life, her strength and determination to be happy was unwavering. Patricia had a passion for music, art, and making the world a more beautiful place. She most enjoyed spending her time playing games with friends and family, and cherished every moment she could spend with them. Patricia’s most memorable vacation was when she travelled to Hawaii with her good friend Maureen.

Despite a body and a mind that constantly challenged or defied her, Patricia’s life can be remarked as a profound lesson of generosity, gratitude, and exponential love. She will be most remembered for her radiant smile, her joyous laugh, and her enduring spirit.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Sabrena Stauffer of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her two sisters, Glenda (Patrick) Denig of Calgary, AB, and Janine (Jeff) Thrale of Cochrane, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, William and Madeline Benwood.

We would also like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the staff and residents of Glamorgan Care Centre for their years of care and compassion, and for welcoming and loving Patricia as part of their extended family.
