“Grief is the price we pay for love”

Bill Grieef, beloved husband of Lucille Grieef of Calgary passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the age of 75 years.

Bill was a gentle and kind hearted man who was proud of his family and of being a husband and father. He loved his family and had a keen sense of humour and used fun historical sayings. He was a passionate birder, loved to play golf and spend time at his cabin in the Columbia Valley, with his family, watching birds and enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid traveller with a sense of adventure - exploring the world and doing birding tours with his wife. He loved his family and worked hard all his life as a mechanical engineer in oil and gas. He was a leader in his field and worked unwaveringly until the age of seventy.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend Lucille Grieef; daughters, Tricia Striker and Lisa Keir; sons-in-law, Steve Striker and Ian Keir; grandsons, Braden Striker, Henry Keir and Charlie Keir; brother Gordon Grieef and his wife Jaye Grieef; brother-in-law Lou Beauchesne and his wife Judi Beauchesne; and step-grandchildren, Mikaela Striker and Ethan Striker.  Bill was predeceased by sister in law Bobbie Plante and her husband Jacques Plante.

Everyone who called him Bill, Dad, Grandpa, and Uncle will hold special memories in their hearts. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by us all.
