Sincere condolences to Gerry and family from Victoria BC
Good Bye Mom. You FINALLY are able to get a well deserved rest. Thank you so much for ALL you did for not only our family but opening up our home to so so MANY people over the years! Relatives,ie:Lethbridge, Holland, B.C. and Ont., friends, neighbors, strangers (Mom and Dad assisted the L&M Motel by renting out Margarets (I’m sure she wasn’t impressed) room when the motel was full) to preparing a LOT of food for extended family outdoor breakfasts for family or relatives at home to BBQ’s at Sandy Beach, Bowness Park or the infamous Chicken Rodeo! Mom ALWAYS had enough food AND a variety of picnic supplies on hand to help another family with something they didn’t bring or provide food for whoEVER that just happened to show up unannounced. Mom and Dad looked after St.Patrick’s Church in Midnapore for 25 YEARS! Inside and OUT INCLUDING Mom making sure the Priest’s vestments looked good on Sunday. Mom too was involved with the “Good Neighbors Club” that provided a LOT of assistance for others for one ex. by knitting gloves, toques, baby blankets, sewing together a myriad of Quilts too. On top of that she volunteered at the “new” (built in ’66) Lacombe Home for 30 Years! I still remember “volunteering” walking the halls singing Christmas Carols or helping out with Bingo! I’m sure Margaret was easier to convince to help out than I was but Moms powers of pursuation easily overcame any of our objections to the contrary.I would be remiss by not including ALL the WORK that Mom did IN the house and OUTSIDE the house! I can still remember looking from the kitchen Mom in the garden and it was a big one on her knees wearing a Sun hat dressed to work HARD as she was want to do ALL the time! If there was a family function wedding or WHATEVER there was Mom providing kitchen support or whatever. Principally taking the bull by the horns and getting what needed to be done. You and Dad were a very good match for each other. I can confidently say that although we, Margaret, myself, Dad, and anyone else that may have come across Mom’s path are (particularly US) are all the better for your type of “insistence” and strong mindedness May you Rest in Peace Mom. Thank you for being a BLESSING! John
We are so sorry to hear about your loss. We wish we could celebrate her life with you all. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

we are so sorry to hear about Truus ( your mothers ) passing. We hope that the love of family and friends will comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead. We always enjoyed her phone conversations and she was always the first one to call us when it was our birthdays. On our visits to Calgary we always made special efforts to see them and also a special condolence to our brother and brother in-law Gerry for the loss of his wife. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Gerry and Family,
Our sympathy to you Gerry and your family. Although we have not seen you for a number of years, we always fondly remember you Gerry, Truus and so many of the Karperien family members over the past fifty years.
Margaret and Johnny, I am so sorry to hear. She will be missed.
Gerry, Margaret, John and families
We share your grief of the passing of our Sister in Christ. We have known Truus & Gerry since coming to St. Pat’s when it first opened it’s doors in 1983.
This loving, dedicated couple has been an inspiration to everyone they met through all the ministries they were involved in at the Parish.
I had the pleasure of many trips to the Dutch store with Truus, Maria, Irene & Jeannette. Having lunch at Costco was so much fun. (I, Marie).
We thank Truus for her friendship all these years. Will miss her so much. Love you Gerry, we will keep in touch. (will bring you a small chocolate next visit. (Mom would not allow a big one!))
So sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers for a very special lady.
Gerry & Family
We are so sorry for the loss of this great lady, we know both Truus and Gerry from Saint Patrick’s Church.
May Peace and strength be with you at this very sad time.
Very sorry for your loss. The afternoon Konrad and I spent listening to old stories about Midnapore with Truus, Gerry and Margaret is something both of us will always cherish.
Condolences to you Mr. Karperien, Margaret, Darcy, John, Karen and families. I am so grateful I had a chance to visit with your parents last year, Margaret. That is how I will remember your mom, so strong and determined while so gentle and caring! She was a very special lady!
