Obituary of Maricel GRANDA (nee Juco)

April 2, 1967– Guagua, Philippines

September 5, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Maricel Granda, beloved wife of Fortunato Granda, and mother of Camille and David Granda, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the age of 53 years.

 

Maricel was born in Guagua, Philippines on April 2, 1967. She moved to Calgary, AB, Canada in 1997. She graduated from the University of the Assumption with a degree in Nursing. She married Fortunato in 1995. 

 

Maricel accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of building her family whom she loved and adored. She enjoyed cooking, watching her son’s basketball games, gardening and spending time with her family. Her most memorable vacation was when she went to Hawaii with her family in 2013.  Her favourite quote was, “No one will leave this earth alive, so don’t worry about dying. Just live until you die, inspire before you expire and never forget to slow down.” She will be most remembered for her kindness, humility and love for her family.

 

Besides her loving husband, Maricel is survived by her daughter Camille Granda from Calgary, AB, and son David Granda from Calgary, AB. Maricel is also survived by her two brothers, Rolando Juco Jr. and Erwin; three sisters, Ma. Ana J. Casupanan, Aileen J. Romero and Catherine J. Castaneda from Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
