Condolences
My sincerest condolences to my friend, Teunisje Gruber and the entire extended Harrison family. I am very sorry for your loss.
Mrs.Teunisje Harrison, was a kind and lovely person. As I remember her, I see her smile. I always enjoyed visiting with her growing up and as an adult. Chatting with her and listening to her stories was always fun. I am so glad to have had the pleasure of knowing her.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Carolyn Jones
Our deepest sympathies to the the whole family. We will remember "Teunisje Senior" as a distinguished, warm and sociable person who faced her final days with calm and utmost courage. Her beautiful blue eyes and smile could brighten up any social setting! We will always remember her very fondly. May she rest in peace.
I have very fond memories of spending time at the Harrison home. My condolences to the family in the loss of such a wonderful family Matriarch. Love
Jim and I are sending the family our love and your mom is in our thoughts. I have such a special memory of time spent with Mr and Mrs H in New Zealand. Mrs H taught me how to cook sand crab soup!
Jim and I were so pleased to have had such a great visit with her on her 90th birthday.
She will be sorely missed.
To the extended Harrison family, we are sending our deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother and great lady. We enjoyed reading her adventurous life history. What a strong, learned, and accomplished woman. May your loving memories of her comfort you and her life's lessons guide you during this difficult time. A bright start in the heaven's sky. May she rest in peace.
Donna and Darcy Morgan
My condolences to the entire Harrison family.
In 1963 Renny invited me to the Harrisons’ home for the first time. That is when I met Mrs. Harrison and she turned out to be one of the kindest, most intelligent persons I have known.
Although Renny and I have remained friends for the past 57 years, I saw Mrs. Harrison infrequently after we grew up. However, the great impression she made on me continues.
My fondest memories are of Renny’s birthday parties. Instead of hot dogs and cake, we had pork chops and blueberry pie. It was fantastic! All the dinners at the Harrisons’ were loud, fun, and the food was always great.
I enjoyed a lot of time at the Cabin in those years. Renny and I still talk about the time that Mrs. Harrison sent us into the 18 inch tall crawlspace to “remove” a porcupine that had decided it was a good place to call home.
Mrs. Harrison was a positive influence in the lives of many people. She will be remembered with love and gratitude.
Best regards,
Glen Stanger
I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I have such wonderful fond memories spending time with the Harrison kids growing up across the alley playing together and always feeling welcome in their Parkdale home. Later in life, creating new memories when Teunisje travelled with Mom and I in '91' touring several Asian countries. Such fabulous new experiences and lots of laughs together.
Remembering her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace!
Please accept my sincere condolences.

When my uncle, Gordon Gruber married Teunisje Harrison Jr., we were very happy to adopt her mother, Teunisje Harrison Sr. I explained to my daughters that Teunisje Jr. was their great-aunt and that Teunisje Sr. was their great-great-aunt. As they already called Teunisje Jr. "Auntie Teunisje", they asked me and their dad what they should call Teunisje Sr. My husband responded with "Teunisje-the-Great". So that's what we all called her over many years of happy times. And looking back now, I think it was the perfect name for such a wonderful, gracious and kind person. We were so blessed to know you, Teunisje and we will miss you!
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who's grieving this wonderful person.
