Condolences
Greg, Wendy, Aaron, I have many fond memories of your amazing mother. I met Clare when my daughter Amy Deyell started Irish Dance in 1993. She gave all of her students a love of dance. She gave all of her students a great foundation in Irish Dance. I have great memories of trips with your Mom to competitions locally and internationally. She was also very proud of her children and grandchildren sharing many stories about you. Her contributions to Irish Dance will live on in her past students and their continued participation in Irish Dance. May you be comforted by the good memories. Johanna Kwakernaak
We first met Claire in 1987 when our youngest daughter decided to pursue Irish Dance, with our oldest daughter soon to follow. For the next decade or more, Claire and Irish Dance became a huge part of our family’s life. Claire had such a love for Irish Dance and always wanted the best for her dancers. She was so proud of their accomplishments. Our daughters learned so much from these years of Irish Dance. Claire often travelled with our family to competitions and various other events. With these travels, we heard many stories of her children, who she always spoke of with great love and pride. Our sincere condolences to all Claire’s family and friends. Rest well Claire and thankyou for the amazing memories! Pat and Brian Schultz
PS: Photo Memory was wonderful! Claire and her infectious smile!
Claire taught myself and my sister Irish dancing many years ago. She broke me out of my shy self having to dance in front of a room full of strangers and taught all of us that hard work will always pay off. Some of my most fondest childhood memories are the years that I danced with her school, the weekend workshops and those darn poodle socks. My condolences to the family in this difficult time.
So sorry for your loss. We had the joy of watching Claire’s wee dancers over the years at the Irish Cultural Society Center and at Celtic Folk. Claire loved to attend the Celtic Folk Club and meet up with her friends while singing along to the great music. There will be lots of Irish dancing going on in heaven. God bless. Claire was a great friend of my family from the time my older sisters were small growing up in Dublin.
She would eventually become my godmother when I was born and in turn I would stand as godmother to her own daughter, Wendy.
As the years passed on we would eventually reconnect again through our mutual passion of Irish dance, which my family is steeped in. Each year at Easter we would meet and recall old times fondly when Claire would travel back to Ireland for the World Championships.
Unfortunately We lost touch in the latter years as Claire’s condition deteriorated and I tried many times to make contact through mutual Irish dance friends however sadly it was not meant to be!
It is sad to hear of Claire’s passing but I have many lovely memories over the years in which to remember her x

Claire Regent first introduced me to Irish dancing when she offered classes at my elementary school. She spoke with kindness and offered a gentle smile. My condolences to the Regent family at this difficult time.
We both have great memories of the wonderful way Claire's dancers performed at a wide variety of Irish functions over the years. They were a credit to Claire's teaching abilities. She always had a welcoming smile when we met.
Condolences to her family at this sad and difficult time.

I knew Claire from childhood as I lived beside her in Dublin, Ireland. We went to Irish dancing classes together. When I got married, I shared a house with Claire and Albert. When Claire went to Canada, we still remained friends. On her visits back to Ireland we would always meet up and talk about the old days. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I met Claire a number of years ago and danced with her as an adult student. She had a big impact on me when my friend and I decided to start up a recreational Irish dance school. I remember our last visit and how she was so animated when she spoke of her adventures - particularly the encounter with the penguins - and her family. She was such a light and so passionate about everything facet of her life. Claire, you are on the biggest adventure of your life now ... may the wind always be at your back and the sun light your journey's path. You will always be remembered and your legacy will live on.
Claire was a true friend. We shared Irish Dancing from practice to making the individual class dresses. Dancing went from practice to a Feis, Stampede parade, community events. All with such enthusiasm.
We shared Claire’s love for the Irish Wheaten Terrier and her dog family joined ours for 17 years…we had ‘Dillon the dog’.
We also enjoyed hearing Claire’s travel stories.
She is fondly remembered.
Love and prayers, Carole
I only danced with her a short time. But she gave me such a love for dance. I still hear her voice in my head when I do certain things. And I will always be grateful for the confidence and joy I developed through dance. All thanks to such a wonderful human being.
Claire was an icon in the Irish dancing community. She had an impact on so many Irish dancers, not just in Calgary, but all over the world. Her smile was always welcoming and her energy seemed endless. She will be deeply missed, but her presence in the Irish dancing world, will live on for years!
Claire was a gentle soul and very much involved in the Calgary Irish Dance Community. She was a lovely lady, nothing but good things to say about Claire. A big thank you to Brenda and Derek Crothers for all they have done for Claire over the years. A life well lived and may she Rest In Peace.

I will always remember Claire fondly. When I first moved to Canada as a young adult, I joined her dance school. She was so welcoming and encouraging. I enjoyed chatting with her during classes as much as I enjoyed the dancing. She reminded me of my mum (also Irish) in many ways. A lovely lady. Thank you for the memories, Claire.
