Obituary of Alan Clarence MENDONCA

July 11, 1946 – Karachi, Pakistan
November 16, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

The family of Alan Mendonca is saddened to announce his peaceful passing on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the age of 74 years.

Alan was deeply rooted in his faith and family. Alan and Doreen met in Calgary in December 1978, married in March 1979, and were blessed with three children. Alan had the pleasure to see his family grow and marry. He will be lovingly remembered for his love of cooking, camping and especially for family gatherings. Alan held an unconditional love for his grandchildren. His faith-based values, compassion, his wit, and genuine kindness will be truly missed (even more so than his delicious cooking).

Our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, and grandpa will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-one years Doreen (nee D’Santos), his children, Russell (Danielle), Richard, Ryan (Amanda), Deanna (Thomas); his grandchildren, Aiden, Luke, Isaac, Riley and Claire; his brother Michael, his sister Rita (Girlie), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

A Celebration of Alan’s Life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at McInnis & Holloway Chapels of the Bells for immediate family. The Celebration will be recorded and posted on the McInnis & Holloway website on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 for family and friends to view.

Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Alan’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a local food bank of the donor’s choice.
