It is with profound sadness that I heard of your father's passing. Our deepest condolences on your loss and our heartfelt wish that the memories that everyone holds in their heart of Alberto allow to remember him with continued love and appreciation. As with all the immigrants that came to Canada during the influx they made a home in Canada and especially Calgary while achieving great success in their business life but especially in their family life. He will be missed as it always fun to talk to him in the store especially when my late father, Vito Mautone and mother Annunziata (Carmela) would come with me to shop. My wife Alba and I thank him and everyone at the store for always being there with kindness and welcome. God Bless.
Dear Sera, Sue & families:
We are sorry for your loss - our thoughts & prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Dear Cristina, Sara, Mike, Sue and Geo and families,
We were very saddened to hear of your great loss. Alberto was a kind and gentle man, with a generous heart.
He brought incredible imports and foods to the Calgary scene and helped many immigrants feel more connected with their culture and roots. Alberto helped me get my first job as a teenager at Safeway and I will never forget that act of kindness. As children, we visited his store each Sunday after church, and we always felt special going there because a treat was always given to us.
He loved his family and worked very hard for them and alongside them. He was a model to follow by many. He will be sadly missed by so many people in this city. Our heartfelt condolences go out to each of you and know that he is with each one of you eternally. Your family will be in our thoughts during these difficult days. Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences.

Sara and Family
It is with deepest sympathy that I send condolences to you at this time as there are no words that will do .
Some of my favourite memories of your Dad is running into him with his hat slightly sideways stogie to the side of his mouth going to the bank in Inglewood after many families did their weekly shopping on Sunday after mass . He would always bring me a cold drink when I was unloading grapes from the rail cars by hand into that old ford van then we would deliver the cases to various homes always stopping for a quick one .But most of all how he would greet me when I would visit the store always making sure I was fed and sit and ask how I was doing. He will be missed .
From the moment I met your dad, he had my heart. He will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with you!
Love Jacqui ❤️

Cristina, Sera, Mike, Sue, Gio, Crystal, David & family,
Please accept our sincerest condolences on Alberto's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of your Dad. From a little girl in Inglewood where I would walk to the store and be greeted by your dad with a big smile on his face and he would pull out candies from his pocket. To when I got married and he would help Guido out with the grapes to make wine. He would always make us feel at home and always warmed our hearts with all the Italian confections that he would bring in. He is truly a legend in our Calgary Italian Community in that we all reaped the benefits of his vision of bringing Italy home for all us. He will never be forgotten and his legacy lives on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dearest Cristina, Sera, Asunta and families, words cannot express our sadness. Alberto may have been small in stature, but his persona was larger than life. His legacy will carry on through your blessed families and through every person who ever new him. All our families, here in Windsor, were so attached to him that we considered our homes his second home. Take comfort in knowing that he is resting in peace with his dear family and friends that have gone before him. They are all sitting in heaven at the dinner table with a giant plate of “friaregli”, home made bread and a flask of wine, smiling down upon us.
May the love of God see you through this difficult time. With deepest condolences,
Peter, Jennifer, Lauren and Michael Valente
Joe De Blasio and family,

Prayers and Thoughts to Cristina, Serafina, Assunta and family from Connie and all the staff and family at Nick's Woodcraft Industries Ltd.

Please accept our most sincere condolences to all family members during this very difficult time. We understand how the loss of a father can break your heart in two and set you back emotionally, always cherish in your heart how fortunate and loved you were by such an amazing man ..... He was an example of strength and determination, and you can see how he passed that energy down to his family .. I will NEVER forget how I was at the store with my father who was terminally ill at the time and Alberto took the sandwich he made for himself and generously handed to my Father to eat instead. An act of kindness that will always be remembered !!!! Thank you Alberto
Rest In Peace

My parents and family are deeply saddened about the passing of Alberto. We send our condolences and blessings to the family and Alberto. I fondly remember going to the store as a child and spending time with Alberto in the back watching wrestling while my mother shopped. Of course while we sat and watched treats and drinks were always included. He was a wonderful man, father, husband, and friend to all and will be missed. God Bless you and may you enjoy your new life in paradise.
Tony Cusano (Assunta and Michele Cusano)
To all of Alberto's family, he was a wonderful man. I grew up with my parents taking me to the store, and you could always count on Alberto to be out on the floor to talk to you, he was always smiling and happy. He seemed to remember and know everyone. His daughters carried on that tradition and we always felt welcome. I can't believe Alberto was 89, he was so young in spirit! Our sincere condolences for your loss. Melina Akins (Maucieri) and family.
Sera and Family, Our sincerest condolences to you all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time. Alberto was a wonderful man, and my family truly enjoyed the conversations with him at the store. He will definitely be missed.

RIP Alberto !!
Our deepest condolences to the Iomartino family. At our house in Windsor we always knew him as “Zio“Alberto. Many a time he would stop and visit with us on his way to Toronto or on the way back. It was always a treat when Alberto, Dad and my uncles Dominic and Pasquale sat around the table and shared stories. The hot topics were always about current events but inevitably it always came to the story of their humble beginnings. Alberto always brought joy and laughter into the room and will be truly missed.
Lee & Paula Fiorvento and Family
My condolences to Senora Christina and the Iamartino family. What a wonderful man, Albert reminded me of my father. Enjoyed our talks about the retail business and having coffee with Alberto. I will really miss this great man.

Amleto e Luisa D'Alfonso
Cristina, Sera, Mike, Assunta, Gio and all of the extended Iamartino family,
It saddens me to hear of Alberto's passing. He was the kindest and sweetest man I know. I remember as a small child, I would walk to the store in Inglewood with my mom. When we entered both Alberto and Cristina would greet you with a big smile and Alberto would pull out of his pocket a Perugina candy. I think it was from that day forward that he captured my heart. Your family has much to be proud of as Alberto was and is the strongest and largest pillar in our Calgary Italian Community. Our community wouldn't be what is is today if it wasn't for Alberto's dream of coming to Canada and building his dream. What a beautiful legacy he has left and built with you all. Please accept my family's prayers and condolences on Alberto's passing. May he rest in peace!
