Obituary of Luigi SPOSITO

October 4, 1956 – Brusciano, Campania, Italy
November 23, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Luigi Sposito, beloved husband of Annette Sposito (nee Rossi), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the age of 64 years.

Luigi was born in Brusciano, Campania, Italy on October 4, 1956.

A painter for thirty-six years, Luigi also enjoyed soccer, gardening and wine making. He was particularly proud of his children, grandchildren, and growing the most delicious tomatoes. Luigi also liked to travel, taking many trips back home and road trips to warmer British Columbia.

Luigi met Annette in 1979 in Italy and they married in Calgary in 1982. Together they raised three children. Luigi will be most remembered for his hard working nature, kind heart, generosity, and the way he made everyone laugh.

In life, surround yourself with what you love, be it family, friends, animals, music, plants, nature. And your home will always be your refuge ... Take care of your health, if it is good to preserve it, if it is unstable improve it, if it is beyond what you can improve, get help ... Tell people that you love this, and that you love them, ... and at every opportunity always remember; life is not measured by the number of breaths we breathe, but by those moments that take your breath away.
- Luigi Sposito 2009

In addition to his wife Annette, Luigi is survived by his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosa Sposito, Clorinda Sposito (Mo Zokaee), and Diana Maria Sposito (Joe Rino); and three grandchildren, Soraya Zokaee, Amedeo Zokaee, and Verona Carolina Rino.  Luigi is also survived by his two brothers, Giovanni Sposito (Luisa Baggio) of Verona, Italy, and Domenico Sposito (Cira D’amore) of Brusciano, Italy; and brother-in-law Mario Rossi (Annita Rossi) of Calgary. He was predeceased by his parents, Rosa Esposito and Antonio Sposito.

A Private Viewing Service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020. The family will host a Celebration of Life on June 19, 2021 within the City of Calgary, since we are all under Covid-19 restrictions at this time.
