Linda, we were so sorry today to hear of the passing of your father. We had some great chats whenever Joel would drop by for a chat and a few laughs when he lived in Alma .
Please pass out condolences on to the rest of your family,
Sincerely , John and Elsie O’Regan
To the Mittoknow that he will be looking down on us from heavenn Famimly: Pls accept our sincere condolences on the loss of your father! We know that he will be looking down on us from heaven and also showing his love to others in those heavenly mansions!
Had purchased a 1969 Totota Corolla and driven it for a couple of years - my first vehicle with automatic transmission - had difficulty getting out of the underground parking lot ramp at Monarch Towers Apt Bldg in Calgary. Phoned Jake and he said bring it over to the body shop in Forest Lawn. Pulled the dipstick on the tranny and said younot laugh are low on fluid - topped it up and did
laugh. He later helped my wifes cousin from out of town at a trade show who was out of welding gas! Great guy!
I was a long time friend of Joel in Alma. We were the same age and in the same class at the local school. We had a very special group that clung together and had many wonderful memories of the musical gatherings in his camp at rear of his grandparents home. When he left and joined the military, I missed his presence at school. When he returned years after and bought his house we continued our friendship. Again, we were in the same group, but this time it was at the the Senior's card games. When he left to go back to his family out west, we all missed his presence. We kept our friendship alive periodically, and especially on our birthdays when we exchanged cards and news of our lives.
Please accept my condolences, and God Bless and comfort you. He was a dear friend .
Your Dad's old friend,
Frances( Cooper) Armstrong
It was about 35 years ago grandpa and myself got up early in the morning to go fishing in the mountains around Oliver, BC.
(I am definitely not a fisherman)
I remember going into the kitchen in the morning and he was making us mustard and butter sandwiches. I thought oh boy I'm going to be hungry by the end of this day. It was probably just the situation, but the best sandwiches I ever had. LOL.
Thanks for the memories Grandpa.
I have been volunteering at the Sandstone Lodge for many years now. Joel and I created such an incredible bond and friendship. He was the highlight of my week, every week. My heart is aching with his sudden passing. I will cherish my wonderful memories of him. My heart goes out to his family and friends. You will be forever missed, Joel❤️
