Obituary of Tammy Lucy Lightning Simeon

September 3, 1973 – Wetaskawin, Alberta
November 28, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, mother, grandmother, niece, granddaughter, and sister, Tammy Lucy Lightning Simeon at the age of 47 years.

Tammy was born in Wetaskawin, AB, and received her education at Morley and Ermineskin School.  She worked as a janitor and carpenter, and a cashier at the Chiniki Grocery Store. She was raised to honour her Cultural Traditional ways, and enjoyed participating in Sun Dances, travelling to pow wows, and round dances. She enjoyed working on tanning hides and making dry meat. She participated in sweat lodges and smudging ceremonies. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She made many friends and enjoyed telling jokes. We will always remember her making us laugh.

She leaves to mourn her children, Irvina, Rod (Verna), Blaine, Brian, Terrence; ten grandchildren, her mother Audrey, grandmother Joan, aunts, Alice, Agnes, Elizabeth, and Norma; uncles, Raymond (Irene), and Graham Lightning; special aunts, Evangeline (Van), Florine (Gilbert), Margaret (Patrick), Rachael, Kay; special uncles Melvin, Winston, and Myron. 

She was predeceased by her father Michael, grandparents, Jack and Cinderella, and James and Lucy; six aunties, and four uncles.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Audrey Simeon (Morley, AB) on Thursday, December 3, 2020.  Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Audrey Simeon (Morley, AB) on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB).
