Joseph DANIELS

Obituary of Joseph Edward DANIELS

Fort William, Ontario - Calgary, Alberta

On Monday, February 1, 2021, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away at the South Health Campus at the age of 88 years.

Joseph Edward Daniels was one of twelve children born in Fort William, Ontario, to parents George and Margaret Daniels.

Joe married his beautiful wife Eleanor Barichello in 1953, and together they raised four daughters. They were happily married for 56 years. Eleanor passed away in 2009. Joe held his family close, and was comforted by his deep faith. He was amazingly kind, caring, charitable, handsome and humble. We enjoyed his great sense of humour, many toasts, and sense of adventure.

Joe loved sharing stories of his varied careers: welding, teaching, sales and service, and running his own company. There were also great hunting and fishing trips, golf holidays, cruises, and family vacations. He travelled the world, always making sure to say hello to everyone in their own language. As he told all of us, he had a great life!

Joe is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law,  Judith and Guy Frigon, Charlene and Bob Hunter, Gail Daniels and Brian Fleming, and Joanne and Darren Peters; eight grandchildren, Joelle, Michael, Kristy, Michelle, Danielle, Jordann, Christopher and Catherine; twelve great-grandchildren, Baxter, Grace, Calin, Roman, Anora, Jack, Toby, Riley, Cora, Finn, Olivia and Xavier. He will be missed by his dear friend Brenda Taylor, his sister Laureen Elliott, and as well as many others.
