Obituary of Demetrios (Jim) CHRONIARIS

April 22, 1972 – February 8, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Demetrios (Jim) Chroniaris on February 8, 2021 at the age of 48 years.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Trish, and their son, Jake; his mother Freida Chroniaris, siblings, Bill (Stella) Chroniaris and Charlotte (Nick) Mandelenakis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, John Chroniaris.

Jim was born and raised in Edmonton, AB, and remained there until 2007 when he relocated to Calgary, AB, along with his family to continue working for E & J Gallo Winery (Canada). Jim was known for his love of family, infectious (albeit questionable) sense of humour, being an avid Edmonton Oilers fan as well as his warmth and generosity. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a hockey dad. He adored, and was adored by, our dogs, Daisy and Kona, and was predeceased by Gracie and Murphy. He was loved and will be fondly remembered by many family members and friends.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jim to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Jim’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Demetrios (Jim) Chroniaris, a tree will be planted in the Ann Arbor & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, Alberta T2Z 4E6.
