Condolences
Dear Family of Peter Heinrich,
I just happened to see the obituary of Peter and I believe he was a classmate of mine in Leipzig in 1953 (in 8th grade) when we left former East Germany for West Germany and ultimately heading to the U.S. I never knew about his leaving Leipzig and even asked a classmate of mine (Gisbert Sponer) who also knew Peter well and is a retired medical doctor in southern Germany.
I would appreciate an acknowledgment of my note as I'm pretty sure that I'm describing the same person I knew from 1950-1953.
Thank you!
Wolfgang Kraft
My dear Freya, my prayers and thoughts are with you. Peter was so very lucky to have such a loving wife. I pray for your comfort and strength in the days ahead for you and your family. With much love, Celine (Carewest family)
A Memory of Peter
My cousin Peter has left us. When I think of him, I have a smile on my face, thinking back to when I was 10 years old. Peter lived with Oma and Opa in the mountains, it was the summer school holiday, and I was invited to visit my grandparents to see Peter and other cousins. Peter was 14 years old and I thought he was the most handsome boy I had ever seen. I followed him around wherever he went. At first he didn’t mind, but after a while he had to put his foot down and tell me to stop it. How happy was I when in 1970 I came to Canada and Calgary, and found my cousin and his family. This was my only family away from home, it was a happy reunion! Ich werde immer an dich denken,
Love be with you.
Gisèle
Freya,
It is never easy to loose someone you love, but let's remember the good times we shared: Our trips to Jamaica and Costa Rica, day trips to our beautiful mountains with delicious picnics and not to forget how much fun our husbands had without us on their skiing trips. Peter was such a fun-loving person enjoying life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Stay strong, Love Frieda
'Uncle' Peter was a kind man with a ready smile of whom I have many fond memories. I remember playing chess with him at the kitchen table in Lakeview when I was 11 years old; I'm pretty sure he let me win. I remember Peter's generosity paying me for babysitting Lance and Tara. Most of all, I remember Peter's laugh - the contagious kind that had you joining him in no time. I will miss him.
Theo and I both extend our sincere condolences to Freya, Lance, Tara and family at this difficult time.
