Greg & Diana Schmaltz - Edmonton
Greg is Wayne's Cousin
We are so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing some months ago. We had not spoken for some time but I always enjoyed any time spent with Wayne and his family. While I was growing up in Olds, AB, Wayne spent a short time living with us and I have some fond memories of that time. I will always remember his smile and especially his laugh!!
To my Stepfather Wayne, I need you to know how much you are being missed today, because I know you can hear my prayers in heaven. I am writing this with tears in my eyes and love in my heart tonight . Although you are no longer here in body I do know you are still with us in spirit and in our hearts forever. That is something that can never be taken away.
Love always your Stepson Michael
My stepdad Wayne gave me the honor of being a dad in my life since the age of 9 years old. I have many good memories of him that I can still smile and laugh about today. I am so grateful that I have been given a second chance at life, and beat the life I had in addiction for a very long time. It has been hard work but I always knew in my heart that Wayne and my mom still loved me unconditionally. With the gift of life I was given by God I was able to restore an even stronger relationship with him. Even though I live in BC I was granted the ability to come and stay with my mom and Wayne towards the last few months that Wayne graced this Earth. Don't get me wrong me and Wayne had our differences too, but we made the amends that were more important that loosing the relationship we had as dad and daughter. Wayne never treated me as different from his biological daughters and I will be ever so grateful to have had him as a part of my life's journey. Wayne is still around me in spirit more than you know lol. Thankyou Wayne for everything you have taught me in life.
