Working in the retirement residence Mr. & Mrs. Spice lived in up until his passing, I was a witness every day to the love the two of them shared. It was undeniable and awe-inspiring. He will be greatly missed by all.
I have so many lovely memories of Mr S. The sweet smell of his pipe tobacco whenever he was in the room. How he quietly sat in the corner taking in the craziness of our two families’ antics, his sparkling eyes, one syllable laugh but few words to add to the commotion. Many NY Eve tobogganing and skating parties, cold, spring and fall picnics in the Banff area, and summer weeks in the Okanagan and at Twin Echoes. I especially remember as a 10 year old the time the whole crew of us were on the floating dock and I fell off the deep side. He was the only adult on the shore to notice I was drowning. I was never so happy in my life to see a strong arm and handsome face reach down and grab my hand! So many happy times with all 12 of us! He was greatly loved, deeply respected and will be sadly missed but what an adventurous life he and Dulcie led.......and what a great team they made! All our love to each of you, Dine and all the Allan Clan. Xoxo
My condolences to the Spice Clan. What a beautiful life Norm lived, I am sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of Uncle Norm and time spent visiting with your family. With sympathy, Susan Canning
Wishing the entire Spice clan peace to bring comfort, the courage to face the days ahead and many loving memories to forever hold in each of your hearts. With sympathy, Tom Cherry
Dear Spice family, I regret not making it my business to get to know this remarkable gentleman at family gatherings we both attended. It is my pleasure to know you and yours Laurie and have you as a part of our family. All from here must go and I am thankful your hearts are full of beautiful memories. So sorry for your loss, love and prayers, Bev Beaton
Joan and I would like to extend our condolences to Dulcie and all of my cousins and their families. I have wonderful childhood memories of family picnics in the Peace River area. Norm and Dulcie were always so hospitable and welcoming during my student years as I traveled through Calgary frequently. As a young adult and budding professional I looked up to Norm as a role model and shining example of honesty and integrity. A good life well lived by a great man.
