Condolences
I am saddened beyond words to learn of Murray's passing. Murray and Joan hired me right out of high school to work at Central Adjusters Ltd. in 1976. Murray took me under his wing and taught me everything about insurance adjusting and the art of negotiation. He alone was responsible for giving me a career that spanned over 40 years. I will always treasure his patience with me and teaching me, sometimes the hard way, what it took to be good at your job. Murray may not have realized this, but he was integral in getting Greg's foot in the door as a restoration contractor, once again paving the way for yet another successful career. I have way too many memories than space allows here, but as I write this, I am laughing over the way Murray's photographic evidence always included his finger pointing at the subject matter! Or the time he lugged a kayak into the office. Or the time when he couldn't get over the shock of Ruby showing him her chest to display her seatbelt bruising! What an absolute gentleman Murray was. He was a second father to me and I will grieve his passing for a very long time. Our sincerest condolences go out to you all. Please call/text me anytime if you need anything. Sending so much love. Cheryl and Greg Szostakiwskyj
Murray was a true gentleman and both Tracy and I fondly remember our time spent with him while at State Farm.
Murray loved the challenges he got to solve while helping people with their claims while putting people at ease during difficult times. We had many great conversations about kayaks and I loved his holiday stories. He will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear about Murray. He was such an amazing man! We were very lucky to have him in our life. We will always cherish our lunches at Spolumbo’s or going for Vietnamese and watching Murray get his sweat on because he put too much hot sauce in his soup! He was such a character who will be dearly missed! A donation has been made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Murray’s name from his State Farm family. All our love to Joan and the family from Rod, Wendy, Gemini, Lori, John, Diane, Garry, Andrea, Kurt, Burk and Shawn.
Our family is very sad to hear of the passing of Murray, ( Uncle Mur to me). I wish to pass our deepest sympathy to Aunt Joan, Jill and Margo, Jordan and Mathew. We are sorry that current circumstances haven't allowed us to visit. Some of my fondest memories involve my time spent with Uncle Mur. From drives in his BMW with his invisible friend George, (the garage door opener) to vacationing in Hawaii, I always remember his smile and his infectious laughter. Growing up I always admired Uncle Mur and I tried my best to be like him. Right down to sitting in the basement pretending to smoke one of his pipes, (this never went over well with Margo who would hide them on me then and give me lectures on how bad they were for your health). I will always remember being invited on the Everett family trip to Priest Lake Idaho spending time on a catamaran with him. Uncle Mur always treated me like a son, I always looked forward to any chance I would get to visit. As I got older and visits were less frequent, I enjoyed our email chains. In his passing I realize how fortunate I am to have had him in my life and will always treasure the memories we shared
Dear Joan, Margo, Gary, Jordan, Matt, Matthew and MacKenzie.
I’m sorry to hear of Murray’s passing the day I hung his beloved Bluenose kayak and rack.
I feel fortunate to have been able to spend many s Wednesday morning at Starbucks in the fresh air with my pup Beau at Murray’s feet or on his lap.
I think Murray was well aware of your live and support in the years of his declining health.
I feel blessed to have been able to spend time with him and you.
May he have eternal rest and peace known that he was loved.
Much Love
Tanya (and Beau)
