Obituary of Norman Henry WORSLEY

June 27, 1924 – Borstal, Kent, England
February 18, 2021– Calgary, Alberta

Norman Henry Worsley, much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the South Calgary Campus on Thursday, February 18th, 2021 at the age of 96 years.  

Norman survived his wife of 68 years and was proud to be a veteran.  He met his beloved wife Edna in 1944 whilst both serving in the British Army.  Norman served 12 years in the Royal Engineers which included a tour in Egypt during the Suez Crisis.  In 1976 they courageously immigrated to Calgary at the age of fifty-two to join their children and extended family. Norman soon started his employment in Canada with Artek Engineering as an Architectural Draftsman until retirement in 1988. 

They lived adjacent to Fish Creek Park because of their love of wildlife and the outdoors. Norman spent many hours gardening, woodworking, drawing and illustrating two published books on wildlife.  Norman continued to draw every day for the rest of his life.  

Norman will be greatly missed by his son Robert (Debbie) Worsley; daughter Heather (John) Gibbs; grandchildren, Katherine (Colin) Donst, Vanessa (Mike) Rolph and Melanie Gibbs (Alden) Cox; great-grandchildren, Donovan (Ashlee) Worsley, Ethan and Vanessa and his many nieces and nephews in the UK and Canada. Norman survived his parents William Frederick and Ella (nee Turner) Worsley and older brother Sidney Worsley. A private cremation will be held at McInnis & Holloway Fish Creek Chapel.
