My sincere condolences to Marlene, Nancy and Tim, Donna and your family members.
I had so much fun working for OAS over the course of a good many years before seeing the sale to Zedi.
Fred loved to tease and I remember putting up an envelope on my office door with a picture of a new car which I was saving for. I asked for donations and got $.01. He couldn't believe the 6ft. Submarine Sandwich I had won for the staff and how we all shared it in our little staff room. Later came the Curling Tournament which saw me coming back to the office with my name and my team members' names engraved on the Friday Night Mixed Curling League Trophy and not Ken Stothers...haa. He especially loved the picture I snapped of Ken "sound asleep at his desk and put it in a beautiful frame on Fred's office credenza just so when Clients came by they would see it and question. Fred took Ken for lunch often but this one time while they were out, Ken's office got a thorough cleaning. Fred came to see me and said how angry Ken was. I said I had nothing to do with that TASK and that he should go and speak with his daughter Nancy. That was a funny occasion and I didn't even plan it. Fred, I believe, told Ken to go home because Ken was so angry. The OAS FAMILY PICNIC was always well attended with spouses and kids. One time I asked if our staff could go golfing, and he said to put up a signup sheet. Almost everyone signed to go. Fred covered most of the registrations with each employee paying something as well. We all got so sun burnt. Then came my 50th Birthday surprize cake. Nancy said that the cake was from Fred and OAS. That was a very special honour and I was brought in and before me was a cake with an old, very fancy, woman's' dress boot along with birthday wishes galore. We always had a Pot Luck lunch after each monthend. Those are just a few of my memories with OAS. REST IN PEACE FRED AND MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS.

Nancy, Donna and Maggie; I want to express my deepest condolences to you all. Losing a father and grandfather leaves a huge hole in one's life. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will hold you all in my prayers.
Sending my sincere condolences to Nancy, Tim, Maggie, and Donna, and the rest of Fred's family and friends. The description of the atmosphere at OAS is spot on, based on my experience. I always had a good laugh with Fred when he was in the office and, of course, we talked about golf. He would often catch me out in the hallways without my shoes on and teased that I should not expect any compensation if I stepped on a staple or something. When the time came that I felt compelled to return to Ontario, he tried to get me to stay by offering a one dollar raise. Per hour?, I said. No, he said, per month. Also, he said that he might be able to find some flexibility on the shoe-wearing issue, but no guarantees. Fred's passing will leave a large hole in many lives but memories are wonderful things and last forever. Take care, Carolyn
Nancy, Donna and Maggie, I didn’t know Fred, but from knowing you Nancy, I know he must have been a wonderful person! Love to you all.
Nancy, Donna, Maggie,
Words are not enough to tell about Fred : a very special man who we meet on 2003 . He made easily links between Piozzo, Marseille and Calgary because he had the sense of family and a really great heart. This man appreciated the best of everyone. He Never forget his italian blood eating and drinkink italian dishes but he still tried to taste me whisky and canada dry. This Day, I answered him :"I prefer il barolo". After all, he laughed.
my family send you all kisses
Nancy, Donna, Maggie -- We are so sorry for your loss. I will always remember gatherings at TiNaMar and your dad there -- with a great grin on his face and looking for a leg to pull. He always made us feel so welcome. We are grateful for that and hope your memories of him will help sustain you.
