Obituary of Johanna Wilhelmina Van HELDEN (nee Blokpoel)
Johanna Wilhelmina (Ans) van Helden (nee Blokpoel), loving mother and Oma of Gus van Helden and Marieke Shipley of Calgary, went home to be with Our Father in Heaven on Monday, November 5, 2001 at the age of 61 years.
Johanna was born in The Netherlands to her parents, Jan and Rie Blokpoel. She immigrated to Canada and was a mother and she taught Theory Music. She was a palliative care volunteer at the Holy Cross Hospital and the Rockyview General Hospital for a number of years.
Johanna is survived by a son Gus (Susan Savage) and by a daughter Marieke (Michael) Shipley, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Duncan and Arles Shipley and Darcy and Georgeanne van Helden; brothers, Jan (Josein) Blokpoel and Jos (Tine- wiets) Blokpoel, all of the Netherlands and her best fiend Li Zahnd.
Johanna was predeceased by a daughter Marleen.
Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (1201 Glenmore Trail S.W.) on Friday, November 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ray Matheson officiating.
