Obituary of Nakoda Sharandon POUCETTE

June 1, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nakoda (Bear) Poucette, our beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, granddaughter, sister-in-law and friend on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the age of 20 years.

Nakoda will be remembered for her tremendous love and devotion to those she loved dearly in her heart. She loved to dance and express herself  at the Pow-Wow. She loved the time spent with her nieces, nephews and family. She was quiet and kind-hearted Yethka Weya. 

Her favorite outdoor activity was volleyball, and she loved to play the guitar. She enjoyed special occasions and made them happen. She always had a beautiful smile, and was respectful of everyone she met. She lived life to the fullest. 

She received her education at Morley Community School.  

Nakoda is survived by her mother Rachel Poucette; her siblings, Trandon (Tammi), Shulyen, and Kisa; nephews Jamal, Jayden, Killian; nieces Kiyah, Brooklyn;  adopted siblings, Rhonda (Hirren) and Geraldine Powderface, Jackie Simeon (Tony),  Riley Kaquitts, Michael Simeon, and Joey Fox; aunties, Margaret (Patrick) Delphine, Eva (Van), Audrey, Marina and Rebecca Dixon, Mellie, Geraldine (Larry), Flora and Tracy Mark, and Florrine (Gilbert); uncles, Winston, Thomas, Stanley, Andrew, Leon (Doyletta), Rey (Sharon), Patrick (Linda) and Charles ( Bernadine); grandmothers, Norman, Doreen and Debbie Poucette; grandfathers, Jim Wildman and David Poucette. She is also survived by her adopted grandmothers, Barbara Hunter and Mary Jane Twoyoungmen; as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends from Morley and Big Horn. We apologize if we have missed anyone. 

Nakoda was predeceased by her father Murphy Randon Poucette; her brother Killian, sister Holly; niece Neveah; paternal grandparents, Murphy Wildman and Doris Poucette; maternal grandparents, Jack and Cindy Simeon; aunt Pricilla; her uncles, Michael Simeon, Terry, Shawn, Kari , Joshua, Bill and Alfred; and her great-grandparents, Killian and Rachel Wildman, and Adam and Flora Poucette. 

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
