Celebration of Life Reception
Condolences
My condolences to the Parker Family. I knew Glenn very well and loved working with him. Every meeting was always a delight. He had an infectious sense of humour and was an extremely knowledgeable electrical consultant. You will be missed Glenn.
Wishing the family all the best. Glenn was a great guy and we had an excellent relationship during our careers. I will remember his smile forever

To Christine and Dan and the Parker family:
Our deepest condolences and sympathies...Glenn's was a life well lived.
Have you ever wondered what it is like to go to work for over 7,000 days of your life and to work with your best friend ? Well I had the privilege, honour and benefit of that for close to 40-years with Glenn Parker.
From my beginnings as a summer student, Glenn taught me and a lot of us the basics of electrical design. Glenn inspired the lot of us to work hard, to respect our bosses, and most importantly to have fun at work. Few if any that worked with us would disagree that Glenn was the heart and soul of our office...his camaraderie, his knowledge, and his joy of work was unforgettable.
My wife Donna and our son Kyle and I had the best of times with Glenn and Sylvia. We will always remember being at that game when Wayne Gretzky hoisted the first Stanley Cup for our beloved Edmonton Oilers. Or the time when Glenn told Kyle that Glenn was bringing a special guest to Kyle's 18th birthday at Joey Tomatoes Downtown. Glenn proceeded to walk in with a 6-foot cardboard cut-out of Wayne Gretzky that Glenn had borrowed from a local Ford car dealership !
Glenn and Sylvia were a huge part of our lives having attended our wedding, multiple Kyle birthdays, Kyle's high school graduation, Kyle's admittance to the lawyer bar, and Kyle's wedding. Glenn and Sylvia were indeed Kyle's surrogate grandparents.
Glenn was one of the most respected electrical designers as many architects, owners, electrical contractors, and even our competition can attest to. Glenn worked on the original Edmonton Coliseum, TD Tower, Oxford Tower, Edmonton City Centre, Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton International Airport Redevelopment, multiple new engineering and health research buildings at the University of Alberta, the Walter C Mackenzie Hospital, and most recently Rogers Place Arena.
As I mentioned earlier, I owe a lot of my career to the mentorship and guidance of Glenn. Together we were blessed to work on Edmonton's best projects. But most important of all, I got to work with my best friend for 40-years. We had the very good fortune of spending endless times with Glenn and Sylvia as part of our lives.
We love you Glenn Parker and we will miss you.
Glenn, Donna and Kyle Stowkowy
I learned so much in my early career from Glen; he always had time for me. I loved his practical approach to engineering but most of all I admired his ability to stay with the issue at hand to the end, find the solution and make things right. He was tenacious with the lighting manufacturers, always pushing for excellence. Many honed their skills by Glen’s well intended critiques; a legacy that lives on in those who worked with him…
