Although we have drifted apart these many years, I’ve often thought of you and those early days of our friendship. Your love for Monte Carlos and Cutlass Supremes, odd choices for a young guy, reminds me of an incident in downtown Calgary. You and I were driving in your car on 9 Ave, waiting for a red light you decided to turn left while it’s still red, but it was from a one way to a two way, this was illegal. You turned right in front of a cop on foot and he waved you over and gave you a ticket. Stuff like this can only happen to you. Goodbye my friend, I will miss you.
Darrol was a kind person, caring of others. We are all a bit better off for having known him. I always felt welcome in his presence and never felt out of place. But most of all Darrol enjoyed the exchange of life experiences and laughter brought on by time with good, long-time friends. He often was late to gatherings and the last to leave because he was enjoying his time with everyone so much. Darrol was always a good friend to me and he will be sorely missed. A warm, sensitive and loving soul has been lost.
