Obituary of Paula Colleen Hagel-Moore

Paula Colleen Hagel-Moore, beloved wife of Fred Moore of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a short illness on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Paula was born in Calgary on March 17, 1949 to Pearl and Floyd Enevoldson. She attended Forest Lawn High School.

Paula started a new chapter in her life in 2004. She joined the Lions International Club, where she met Fred, and they were later married on September 3, 2011.  She had found her love and joy for life again, her dedication to community service, and a new purpose. She was so proud to be a member of the Lions, achieving numerous awards, fulfilled positions on multiple occasions such as treasurer and president.

Paula’s passion was her family, she was our rock, the glue that held our family together. She will be remembered for her bright loving smile, a never-give-up attitude, and uplifting spirit that everyone felt when they met her. Although Paula was faced with many challenges in her life, her spirit never broke, and her positivity always shone through.

Besides her loving husband Fred, Paula will lovingly be remembered by her three children, Ed (Diane), Derek (her favorite), Corinne (Joe); Fred’s children, Shannon (Dave), Tom (Sue Ellen), Kirk; grandchildren, Lena (Ryan), Tanner, Jace, Rylen, Kayla (Grant), Amanda, Jesse, Brandt, Shaylynn, Mallory (Brett), Zachary (Amy), Kristen (Allan), Ryan (Susan); great-grandchildren, Hannah, William, Nola, Evelyn, Ian, Flora, Sienna, Aidan, Payton, Keira, Jackson, Michaela. She is also survived by her brother Wayne, sisters-in-law, Ilona and Eileen; brother-in-law Albert; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paula was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Jack and Butch; and sister Merlene.

A Private Family Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Hagel’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
