Obituary of Lorraine Charest

March 5, 1940 – Port Arthur, Ontario

October 11, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Lorraine Charest of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

Lorraine was born in Port Arthur, ON, on March 5, 1940. She moved to Calgary in 1997 after living in Toronto, ON, Montreal, QB, Hemmingford, QB and then Miramichi, NB. Lorraine accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her work in the medical field as a medical secretary.  She was an avid volunteer for many different charities and support groups including mentorship for young people and supporting seniors. Lorraine was a passionate classic film buff which she passed along to her twin daughters. She had an insatiable desire to learn – from self-improvement to travel but a good mystery was always not far from reach. She will be most remembered for her true heart, positivity, kindness and compassionate caring for all people she interacted with.  She loved picking out and writing greeting cards. She never missed a special occasion, with a birthday, an anniversary or holiday card a welcome gift through the mail.

Lorraine is survived by her twin daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Gord Stuart of Calgary, AB, and Pat Castillo and Rene Jager of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren Taylor (Jarrod) Short of Brazil, Indiana, Brecken (McKenzie) Stuart of Calgary, AB and Bryce Jager of Arlington, Virginia. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Connie Charest, and niece and nephew, Crystal and Robin of Miramichi, NB; and brother-in-law Doug Pang, nieces, Darlyne and Kassia; and great-niece Serena, all of Hemmingford, QB.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Charest, and was predeceased by her sister, Pat Pang.

In living memory of Lorraine, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, Ab t2x 3j3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.

Her love, laughter, kindness, positivity and generosity will be dearly missed.  We’ll love you forever – The Twins
