Obituary of Marian Paulucci

May 29, 1932 – Calascio, Italy

October 13, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Marian Paulucci was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She left this world on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at age 89.

Marian was born in Calascio, Province of L’Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy on May 29, 1932. She received training to become a seamstress, a skill that she was able to put into practice when she arrived in Canada in November of 1957. In Calgary, Marian began working in the Alterations Department at the downtown Eaton Centre. She would work for Eaton’s for over 30 years before retiring in 1998 to look after her grandchildren. Work and providing for her children were always her focus and priority. Marian loved spending time with her grandchildren. It gave her great joy and comfort to see their growth and accomplishments right through to the end of their university years. Marian was a kind and sociable person who enjoyed company and conversation with family, neighbours and friends new and old. She had a genuine warmth and often referred to acquaintances as, “This is my best friend.”

Marian is survived by her son Paolo, daughter Franca (Rick) Paolozzi, grandchildren, Cristina and Alex Paolozzi; her sister-in-law Gilda Camilli, niece Adele (Lawrence) Zanutig and their children, Jessie and Dean; her nephew Roger Camilli and his daughter Abbey. She is predeceased by her parents Adele and Secondino Camilli; as well as her brother Domenico Camilli.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
