My heart is heavy with the news of Lorraine's passing. My sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family.
Will be forever grateful for Lorraine's kind encouragement and belief in me from the first time we ever met... at Rockyview in 1993 where Lorraine interviewed and recommended me for volunteer baby photographer. The Rockyview group picture is from the 'Vitalize '93 Provincial Volunteer Conference. Note I am in one of my favorite places, at Lorraine's right hand, shoulder to shoulder.
Fate made us neighbours in 2003, across the street from each other, for which I feel very blessed. Loved our comfortable back and forth visits, exchanging recipes and baking, her cozy home always welcoming, and time outside weeding the roses, sipping lemonade, and that blue bonnet... When Lorrain moved from the street it was hard not to continue to wave across whenever coming or going. We visited and phoned as best we could, even through covid, and enjoyed a shared friendship to the end.
I will miss Lorraine, as will many neighbours whom she encouraged to smell the roses!
Best wishes to Lorraine's family,
Sincerely,
Carol James (nee Petursson)
