Dora Mancuso of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the age of 78 years.

Dora was born in Andali, Catanzaro, Italy on January 1, 1944, to parents, Lucia Cuda and Francesco Serrao.

She immigrated to Canada in 1960.

Nonni enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a great seamstress and was always available to anyone who needed some sewing, hemming, or repairing done. She was meticulous in all that she did, a person who paid great attention to detail.

She taught herself to speak and read in French. Our mom was an avid reader and always took the time to read. She had a great memory and was a great storyteller. Nonni had a great connection to her past and was able to recall and tell stories about her childhood and family history in great detail.

Dora married Salvatore Mancuso in 1960.

Dora’s most memorable vacation was when the children were young as many summers were spent in Wildwood, New Jersey. With our dad many years were spent in the Dominican Republic, where she and my dad enjoyed the winters. They both developed great friendships there.

Dora is survived by her two sons, Domenic (Jeannie Roy) and Sergio (Dora Martorana); daughters, Sandra (Matteo Di Liberto) and Sonia; seven grandchildren, Dario, Olivia, Cara, Marco, Michael Anthony, Stefano, and Sophie. She is also survived by three siblings, Antonio (Maria), Pietro Umberto (Angelina); sister Maria (Nicola).

Dora was predeceased by husband Salvatore; parents, Lucia Cuda and Francesco Serrao; brother, Vincent (Maria); sister Teresa (Salvatore).

We would like to thank all family and friends who supported us through this journey; Dora was loved by many. She passed away on January 11, 2022. Our dad, Salvatore passed away on January 11, 2012, exactly ten years apart. We believe that mom willed this to happen. May they both rest peacefully, together, as they will remain in our hearts forever.
