Condolences
I am writing on behalf of the Friends of Nose Hill Society. Pat Ryan was the alderman who chaired the Calgary Parks and Recreation Board tasked with the 1979 project of initiating the Master Plan for Nose Hill Park. This was part of the new Parks Planning section coordinating the long and short range policies for environmentally sensitive areas.
Without Mr. Ryan’s leadership and commitment we would not have the natural environment park we have today. Thank you, Ryan, from the Friends of Nose Hill!

Sending the entire Ryan family much love during this difficult time. We have great memories of all the family get togethers. The last visit with Pat and Mel in Calgary May 2017 was very special.

There have been so many nice things said about "coach" Pat over the net in these last few days bringing back a flood of great memories. Mom (Glenda) wanted me to reach out to extend her condolences to the entire Ryan clan on the loss of Pat. Her simple words of “That Triwood group was really special” sums it up well. We are all indebted to Pat’s service at the community and civic level but most importantly for his impact on our lives. Pat often treated us like adults long before we earned that right and helped us to find our way. I remember playing (and losing) my first poker and blackjack games in the Ryan household among other firsts. We were all so fortunate to be surrounded by great people like Pat. If a life is measured by its circle of positive influence, Pat would score large. A legacy to be very proud of.
With thoughts to all,

My husband, Al, and I enjoyed many social occasions with Pat and Muriel. But my recent memories are of Al and Pat having interesting discussions over a glass of Scotch. Pat was always good company and often arrived with a box of Purdy's chocolates.
Sincere condolences to the Ryan Family. Pat will be greatly missed.

It has been a long time since we have had contact with the Ryan family but I remember Mr. Ryan well. I remember him as a family man who smiled broadly. While I knew he was on city council I was unaware of the many changes and initiatives he was a huge part of. We can all be grateful for his contributions. Our sincere sympathy to the family and in particular to Karen , Alex and family. Judy and Graeme Proudfoot
To all the Ryan's,
It's been years since I've seen many of you, I wanted to share my deepest sympathy's. Your Dad always had a smile on his face & a twinkle in his eye, Bob loved him. I had forgotten what an instrumental role he played in so many crucial civic decisions, I walk our pooch often @ Nose Hill. Next time I'm there I'll take some extra time to reflect & say "Thanks to Pat"!
My condolences
