Theresa Thomas (nee Wakeham), of St. John’s, NL, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at the age of 72 years in Calgary, AB.

Theresa was born in Petite Forte, Newfoundland on December 30, 1949, and was raised in Placentia, Newfoundland with her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Theresa married Fred Thomas in 1985 and they welcomed their only child, Elizabeth, in 1988. The three of them shared many wonderful memories over the years. In the later years of her life, Theresa enjoyed spending a lot of time in Calgary and loved the city and her family and friends there.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Carpenter, and son-in-law, Rob Carpenter, of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Ella and Nova.

Theresa is also survived by her sister Marie Traverse (Jim Traverse), and brothers Dennis Wakeham (Debby Kavanagh), Ken Wakeham (Millie Wakeham), Derm Wakeham, and Ernie Wakeham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, in particular the Coombs and Peddle family, and Katrina Curtis and family.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Fred Thomas. She was also predeceased by her parents, James and Martha Wakeham; her sisters Liz Olson and Loretta Bugaiski; and her brother Arthur Wakeham.

A service will take place at a later date in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Details to be provided.
