Condolences
Covy made us all laugh and those memories will last forever. 07/07/07 was a special day - Shelby & Blake’s wedding - if their wedding is mentioned, it is not the beautiful bride or handsome groom that comes to people’s minds - it is Covy the MC. Covy made everyone laugh all evening - yes right to the last dance. Forever loved Covy. Rick & Donna Boyd
As I sit here thinking of all the great memories with my cousin Covy Joe the most fondest of them all are the times we spent at Turtle Lake, we always had great times together there but the one time we sat on the beach brushed off the sand of some dried up reeds and lit them up to have a puff is definitely one that has never been forgotten. Terrible idea, my lungs and throat hurt every time I think of it. I’d always send a pic of the reeds anytime I was walking along the beach and send it to him saying doesn’t it make you wanna light one?! Lol
Another good story when I was doing my practical in hair school he volunteered to be my male model for my mens cut, well he had such stretchy like skin & when I was zipping around his ear with the clippers they managed to grab that skin and cut him making him bleed! It was so hard to keep from making a scene, I had to say shhhh your gonna make me fail and he most certainly didn’t let me live that one down for many years! And when the bleeding stopped I called the teacher over in hopes she didn’t notice the cut I made, nope I passed!
Ok one more since it’s my oldest sons birthday and the picking of his middle name has to do with Covy.
When I was pregnant and found out it was a boy, Covy would always bug me saying well you should name him Covy it is a pretty awesome name. So I thought of all kinds of names that kinda sounded similar and came up with Colby just to get a rise out of him.
Guess the significance of my sons middle name has a pretty cool meaning behind it now.
You’ll be missed beyond measures Cov, so happy I bumped into you randomly at the rinks just recently for some muchly overdue hugs and thanks for pointing out that tire of mine that was about to pop
Sending so much love and healing to Cassie and Family, Ellie, Hoef, Trina & Nats
My heart aches for you all, your support for one another is so strong
My fondest memories of Calgary involve seeing Covy. On stage, or off, it was always a joy to be in his company. Whether we were out for dinner before the show, or I was doing magic tricks for him after the show, I always felt luck to be around him. He had a twinkle in his eye and a laugh that was contagious. I can still the way he smiled. Like it was sneaking across his face. What a beautiful smile. What a beautiful man.
My condolences to his family, friends, and to Cassie.
With all the love I can muster.
Dave Morris, Victoria
We are sending our deepest sympathy to all of Colby’s family. Our thoughts are with you at this very sad time.

Deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones. I had the privilege of working with Covy in the Edtevan area and seeing him in the Calgary office. Was always fun to be around. He stayed at my place when we were in a oilmens golf tournament in Carnduff, Sask. and in the morning after the first round all hungover he had to feed my horses a carrot. He didn't realize fingers and carrots were the same to a horse.
