Obituary of Janice Barbara Endicott

March 10, 1958 – Calgary, Alberta

June 2, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Janice Endicott, beloved wife of Fred Endicott, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the age of 64 years.

Janice was born in Calgary, AB, on March 10, 1958. She moved to Sunderland, England in 1961. Janice graduated with honors from the Monkwearmouth Technical College with a Diploma in Business Administration.

She began her working career at Northern Rock Building Society as a junior administration clerk. After two years and much hard work, she was promoted to Senior Administration Officer. Janice left Northern Rock and joined the family business in the role of Business Manager, overseeing all aspects of finance, operations, and human resources.

On a return visit to Calgary, Janice met the love of her life Fred.  When she returned to England, Fred and Janice began a long-distance romance with Fred proposing in July 1983. Janice accepted the proposal, moved back to her birthplace Calgary then she and Fred got married in November 1983. Janice and Fred remained devoted to each other for 38 years. Throughout their marriage Fred told Janice she was the prettiest and best wife anyone could ever have and that he was so lucky to have her in his life.  Janice had a deep and quiet relationship with her saviour Jesus that gave her much strength and courage.  She had a full and rewarding life despite the many challenges she faced.  She was a kind person who loved animals, particularly her dogs and cats.  She was devoted to her many friends and close family; she was passionate and strong-willed.

Special thanks to the Doctors and staff, past and present of Lynnwood Medical Clinic and Pharmacy. Janice had a long and trusting relationship with Dr Nanette Alvarez, Southern Alberta Adult Congenital Heart Clinic whose skills and abilities gave Janice quality of life for so many years. Finally, Janice spent her last days in the care of Pulmonary Unit 39, at Peter Lougheed Centre.  Thank you to all the staff, doctors and nurses who provided comfort to Janice and family.

Besides her loving husband, Janice is survived by her mother Ethel Hendry, her brother Michael Hendry and sister-in-law Maureen, brother Rob Hendry and sister-in-law Sheila, sister Catherine Fradgley and brother-in-law Kevin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
