Condolences
I am saddened to hear of loosing such an awesome lady. I loved it when Auntie Betty and i would sit and share sewing experiences. She always took such an interest in what interested others.. I’m sad that we hadn't seen each other but always grateful when i would get a Christmas card and note. The world has lost a beautiful lady. Lots of love to the Melton family. Aunt Betty was a wonderful person and always would reach out and help you. Very kind and thoughtful.
Love and prayers to Melton family

There were few homes more welcoming than that of Betty Melton. Her humour and warmth made a visit to the Meltons a highlight of the week—and she never indicated that weekly visits from a teenager across the river were a problem for her. I pretended it was her fault for making the best carrot cake on planet Earth—but really, I kept appearing in the Melton doorway for the company of the whole family—whose hospitality was nurtured by Betts.
But Betty had more tricks up her sleeve. Her skills at the sewing table were beyond compare. She put together several wardrobes for me: One for backpacking around the world (“How about an elastic waist band in case you have to change out in the open?” Betty saved the day there!). Then on the other end of the universe, she produced outfits for getting me a job on TV (“Is that jacket Chanel?”) and best of all, Betty gave me the wedding dress every bride wished for.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of meeting her. Here’s to you Betty!
