Obituary of Judith Arlene Doerksen

DOERKSEN, Judith (Judy) Arlene

November 4, 1964 - Winkler, Manitoba

June 15, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Judith (Judy) Doerksen (nee Dyck), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the age of 57 years.

Born in Winkler, MB, Judy spent her younger years on a farm observing Mennonite traditions. After moving to Gimli, she started a family and had her two daughters, Nastassia and Tiffany. She spent many years working as a professional in the hospitality industry, where she met her surviving husband, Todd. Judy enjoyed many hobbies outside of her career including baking the world’s best bread and cinnamon buns, being an online digital soldier for freedom, and making friends and family laugh with stories of concerts and bonfires.

Judy moved to Alberta in 2021 to be with her daughter, Nastassia, grandchildren Lachlan, and Callan, and to enjoy a change of scenery. As an active grandmother, she spent many hours crafting, baking, and watching her grandchildren playing at the playground.

Judy immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes, creative fashion choices, and generally calm and approachable personality. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness.

We will miss her greatly.

Judy leaves behind to mourn, her husband Todd, her sisters Valerie (Tim), and Sandra; her brothers Melvin, and Sheldon; her daughters Nastassia (Greg), and Tiffany; her grandchildren Liam, Lachlan, Coraline, and Callan. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Sarah and Abraham J. Dyck.
