Obituary of Phyllis Ann Screpnechuk

Phyllis Ann Screpnechuk of Calgary, AB peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday July 7, 2022 at the age of 79 years.
Phyllis was born in Drumheller, Alberta on May 22, 1943, and from an early age, she loved music, playing, and singing all things Ukrainian. Throughout her life, Phyllis played accordion in family bands, Ukrainian orchestra, Prairie Mountain Fiddlers, and the Calgary Hopak Ensemble. She loved sharing time with her dogs and enjoyed travelling and cruising with family and friends. Phyllis had flair and loved wearing leopard prints, sequin hats, and bold colors.
Phyllis is survived by her loving son Kevin, wife Michelle and granddaughters Alexandra, Christina & Felicia, whom she treasured. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Neil, mother Bertha, partner Tony and father Peter. Heartfelt gratitude for the care and love Phyllis received daily from her companions Jayne and Bethel, the care teams at Rouleau Manor main floor, and Dr. Patricia Bryden.
Funeral service will be held at McInnis & Holloway Chapel of the Bells (2720 Center Street North) Sunday, July 24th at 1:00p.m. Family and friends are invited for lunch in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made directly to Wood’s Homes of Calgary in memory of Phyllis’ support of children’s mental health. www.woodshomes.ca.
