Obituary of Carole Ann McCracken

May 2, 1944 – Luton, England

August 21, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Carole McCracken (nee Rogers), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the age of 78 years.

Carole was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England on May 2, 1944, to Vic and Joyce Rogers who met in England during World War II. She moved to Canada with her family when she was just 1 year old, to Winnipeg where her father was from.

Carole moved to Calgary in 1971 to be close to her family.  Although she moved frequently over the years, Carole always came back to Calgary.  She enjoyed travelling and visited most of Canada, as well as several states in the U.S. Her final trip was to England to visit family in 2006.

Carole held many jobs during her career, specializing in Office Management and Bookkeeping. If you asked her, there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do, or hadn’t done. She loved learning new things and took great pride in her ability to excel at all her endeavors.

She was very passionate about doll making, earning her Master Dollmaker status in the 90’s, and she went on to earn various awards and achievements. She was also an avid painter and expert sewer. Carole was particularly proud of her grandchildren whom she loved more than anything.

Carole is survived by her sister, Joan Copeland of Calgary; daughter Terry McCracken of Calgary; grandchildren Katelyn (Bryce), Ashley (Cody), and Cale; and many lifelong friends. Carole was predeceased by her parents Vic & Joyce Rogers, brother Jim Rogers, and son Scott Vidler.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Calgary, 800, 7015 Macleod Trail S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2K6, Telephone: (403)290-0110, www.alzheimercalgary.com.
