Condolences
Sorry to hear about Betty's passing. Joe, Sue and Graham and I remember and appreciate all her work with the Lake Louise Ski Club as well as her encouragement and enthusiasm for skiing and the club. Condolences to you both. Linda McFarlane
Our Deepest Condolences, The children and I have so many fond memories of Betty and had so much fun with her over the years. It was always great to catch up with her when she was out and about in Canmore and on the hill. She will be missed.
Amy, Carter and Katharine Dorner
I was actually playing golf in Canmore with a friend of yours, Doug, when I heard about Betty. I was heartbroken to hear this news, but I also realize that Betty's life was a life well lived. You were lucky to have her as your Mom - she and my Mom were buddies for a reason! The Koper family was very pleased when the Kents bought the cabin from the Kendalls and moved in across the way from us. We knew that you would be able to enjoy it there just like it should be enjoyed. My family and I remember Betty very fondly - she made us smile every time we saw each other. She was able to bring a lot of joy to so many people, and I was very privileged to have known her. My condolences to you, Doug and Chris.
Betty, you have left so many people with such happy time memories. I especially think of all the fun competition we enjoyed at the Bruno Engler races at Norquay. I know you are yodeling wherever you are now.
My condolences to Doug and Chris for the loss of your exceptional Mother.
Just fondly remembering the numerous visits I Betty & her sidekicks would visit Norquay in good & bad weather...always positive, smiling, caring and encouaging all of us olde farts to get out there & ski. What an example of sheer optimism!!!
Betty was a unique special person and will be missed terribly by all who knew her. I have many fond memories of life with Betty: at the Glencoe Club and her house on Rideau Rd, the years our families shared at Tunnel Mtn and the wonderful and many heli skiing adventures that we took.
I credit Betty with my continuing love of downhill skiing. When my husband died 20 years ago, it was Betty who insisted that I start skiing again. I remember, after not skiing for 10 years, standing at the top of Wiwaxy, complete with newly shaped skiis and a helmut thinking, how do I do this? Betty got me down and I am still actively skiing.
To Doug and Chris, my thoughts and sympathies are with you at this time of loss; I did ponder the idea of attending Bettys celebration, but, dont think this is possible. Her death is very sad but I know you have lots of wonderful memories
In sympathy, Nan Morrison
I was sad to read that Betty left us; every time I drove by her house in Canmore I wondered how she was doing. Betty was my Girl Guide leader at the Sara Scout Hall and a marvelous leader she was. Then over the years until not long before covid I would see her and have a chat at Marra's in Canmore or the Glencoe in Calgary. Betty was full of life - what a positive attitude she had! Verve and aplomb indeed. And style. I'm grateful to have known her. My condolences to all the family.
