Condolences
There are pillars that hold us together. Joe was one of them for so many. My experience with Joe in the ski world and in helping raise funds for the team and Alberta so young racers could race is a pillar that when I think of the Irwin Family and Joe's leadership of it he is one of them that gave the ski world and oil business a strength that it needed.
Thank you to the Irwin family and their commitment to a wonderful family recreation activity that brought so much more to so many young racers. In my 831 Living Your best Life Podcast Joe was one of them. The book does not talk about all 831 but Joe would be one of the 831 that made a difference. The ski community, the oil patch, Calgary, Alberta, and Canada all benefited from Joe's commitment to assist, lead, and contribute. Thank you to you Joe and thank you to your family that continues the legacy of helping young Canadians enjoy a rich life because of your family's contribution and support. Jungle Jim Hunter
To the extended Irwin family - so sorry to see news of Joe’s passing. He was a fixture at Nakisha in ‘88 and at the Glencoe. This generation of builders will be missed. Sorry for your loss.
Joe Irwin
Mike, Bill, Ed and Bobby… you were so lucky to have Joe, your wonderful dad, with you for so many decades. Although, Jeannie’s life was was all too short, I was always impressed by their love and support of “their boys!” Their love of sport and their fun loving spirit is a legacy that is evident in you and your children. A favourite memory that comes to my mind and is weekend breakfast, cookie sheets loaded with bacon , sizzling away in the oven of that big happy family kitchen! I am sorry for your sadness at this time but know that happy memories will take over before too long.
